What We Do for Your Business
Running a North Carolina business means staying on top of state compliance requirements every year. Miss a filing, and your entity risks administrative dissolution. Our Corporate Protection Service handles it all.
Registered Agent
We serve as your entity’s registered agent with the North Carolina Secretary of State, providing a professional registered office address and ensuring all official correspondence is promptly received and forwarded.
Annual Report Filing
We prepare and file your entity’s annual report with the NC Secretary of State well ahead of the April 15 deadline each year. No more tracking deadlines or risking penalties for late filings.
Regulatory Monitoring
We monitor regulatory changes that affect your entity and provide timely updates on new requirements, filing changes, or compliance obligations so your business is never caught off guard.
Why Choose a Law Firm?
Online services like LegalZoom and Incfile offer registered agent packages, but they lack the legal expertise to advise you when it matters most. When a lawsuit is served, when regulations change, or when your entity needs restructuring, a filing service can’t help.
With Littlewood Law, your compliance is managed by the same attorneys who understand your business, your deals, and your long-term strategy.
-
Real attorneys reviewing every document served on your entity, not a processing center
-
Proactive compliance — we file your annual reports in January, months before the April 15 deadline
-
Immediate legal support if your entity faces litigation, regulatory action, or needs reinstatement
-
One relationship for all your corporate and real estate legal needs
-
Transparent pricing with no hidden fees, surprises, or upsells
Simple, Transparent Pricing
One annual fee per entity. No hourly billing. No surprises.
How Enrollment Billing Works
We file it for you
If your entity has an annual report that is due and unfiled, we’ll take care of it. You pay the $495 service fee plus the applicable SOS filing fee (plus 3.5% processing). Registered agent services activate immediately through December 31. Autopay renews each December 31.
Service fee only
If your entity’s annual report has already been filed for the current year, you pay the $495 service fee only (plus 3.5% processing). No filing fee. Registered agent services activate immediately through December 31. Autopay renews each December 31.
Extended coverage
Enroll in November or December and your coverage extends through the end of the following calendar year. We’ll file your next annual report and provide registered agent services the entire time. No autopay charge until December 31 of the following year.
Getting Started
Enroll
Complete our enrollment form with the name of each NC entity you’d like to enroll. We’ll verify each entity’s current status with the NC Secretary of State.
Engagement & Authorization
We’ll send a brief engagement letter that covers the scope of services and authorizes annual autopay on December 31 each year. If any entity has been administratively dissolved, we’ll handle reinstatement.
We Take It From Here
Once enrolled, we file your registered agent designation, handle your annual reports each January, and keep you informed of any regulatory changes. Your entities stay compliant, and you stay focused on your business.
Frequently Asked Questions
We’ll take care of it. If your entity has a late annual report, we’ll file it upon enrollment and the applicable SOS filing fee will be charged. If the entity has been administratively dissolved, we handle the full reinstatement process — the reinstatement involves a $303 state fee plus a $75 firm fee. Once the entity is back in good standing, your Corporate Protection coverage begins.
Autopay runs on December 31 each year for the following year’s coverage and annual report filing. You can use a credit card or eCheck, and you can set a different payment method for each entity if needed.
Absolutely. Many of our clients enroll multiple LLCs and corporations. Each entity is billed separately, and you can assign different payment methods to each if you prefer.
We serve North Carolina LLCs, corporations, nonprofit corporations, and PLLCs. Nonprofits and PLLCs are exempt from annual report filing requirements, so enrolled entities of those types pay only the service fee for registered agent and regulatory monitoring — no SOS filing fee applies.
Online filing services are automated processing centers. We are a law firm. When service of process arrives, an attorney reviews it and contacts you immediately. When you need legal advice about your entity, we’re already familiar with your business. And if your compliance situation is complicated, we have the expertise to handle it — not just file paperwork.
Yes. There is no long-term contract. If you decide to discontinue the service, simply let us know before the December 31 autopay date. We’ll file a withdrawal of registered agent with the Secretary of State and you can transition to another provider.
